In the same way we want on our PC the best, fastest and updated browser with all good available extensions, whether at a personal level or professional one, the mobile world has become equally demanding on browsers for smartphones.

Behind are the days where you could only reach the web from your mobile through a pre-installed default browser. And even though it is true that quality alternatives arrived sooner to the smartphone world than to PCs (we still remember the dark years of IE’s kingdom), browsers for mobiles required yet another push once they were released on the market.

A second evolution aiming to the user’s experience instead of adapting the good ol’ desktop browser to mobile devices.

All these efforts to enhance their products resulted in all mobile browsers being extremely powerful and with unique features, making it really difficult to choose which one of them to use. Here we list the top 5 browsers for smartphones:

5. Opera
Even though this browser is almost ruled out on PCs, on Android devices it is widely used. Known as ‘Opera Mini’, it has a particular feature that reduces the load up to 75%, forcing the speed of the browser. Not only we will save money from our data connection, as well we will speed up navigation. And it´s download manager allows the user to pause and resume downloads and contents in an easy and fast way.

4. Dolphin Browser
Every step taken by this browser has been in the right direction. It has reached over 60 million downloads and has become one of the most reliable ones in the market. Its unique usability allows shortcuts to a wide variety of apps without closing the browser itself. Supports thousands of external add-ons and is one of the most advanced in the usage of HTML5 under web environments. Its voice recognition system for searching goes beyond Apple’s SIRI, according to experts.

3. Orbot
Do you want to end up in the dark corners of the Internet without being spotted by the CIA? Or do you simply need a proxy for your connection? Orbot will help you in any of these cases. It is considered the best browser for TOR Networks available in the market, and even though it doesn’t have many of the features of its competitors, Orbot allows the user to choose which apps to be used by its “special services”, so that by only one click all apps will become shielded to any attack to the privacy (i.e. Twitter). A very interesting tool for all users who do not want to leave traces when browsing through the web.

2. Firefox
The preferred option for web design, it has risen in the ranking after a very difficult stage initially. Even Mozilla considered dropping it and give all focus to the PC version.
But with the arrival of Mozilla’s OS for smartphones, the browser evolve to what it was expected. It has been the pioneer in apps installation, adapting up to 85% of the PC version apps and even having available the famous ADBlock on our mobile phones. As well it was the first one to include private browsing tabs, so that no one can find out what you’ve been browsing while you’re at the restroom.

1. Chrome
The giant keeps crushing its rivals wherever it goes. The first few versions where non-stable and full of bugs. But in less than a years’ time iPhone users have changed from Safari to Chrome. The syncing with the PC version has a high level of detail, integrating perfectly our Gmail, Drive and Youtube accounts. Shares the browsing history of the PC in real time, which means you have the same exact browser on both devices. The loading time is one of the best in the market and the performance options allow the user to even delete the damned cache.
